With the need to prepare our young Girls’ minds in readiness to take giant strides that will place society on a sound footing on all developmental fronts, Glamorous Mothers development initiative (GLAMODI) a non governmental organization dully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission CAC in 2013 initiated her intervention with the very first edition of Benue Girls Soar Summit in commemoration of the United Nations international day of the Girl Child, an annual summit for girls to be given mentor-ship by successful captains of industries, emerging civil society leaders, government agencies etc, in order to enable them to fully participate and engage society as vibrant and robust individuals. This summit assembles renowned resource persons and experts across a variety of spectrum to educate Benue girls on various aspects of leadership, social behavior, innovation and entrepreneurship. The summit was borne out of the necessity to redefine and reorder Benue girls towards increased productivity.
The Executive Director Glamodi and Convener Benue Girls Soar Mrs Stephanie Apel in a statement reechoed that the vision for the summit is to strengthen the foundation for growth of positive self-identity, potentials for sustainable development and involvement of appropriate leadership qualities. Adding that girls most times suffer neglect and are often left at the mercy of fate; hence the need to care for their growth optimally , this year’s edition is a milestone.
The 5th anniversary of putting our energies into achieving this Vision.
Come the 11th of October, Glamodi shall be honoring all who have Mentored, Volunteered or Supported this Cause over these 5 years.
